Modern Wedding Shoot at Curzon Hall

Shooting for Modern Wedding Magazine was like 4 seasons in one day:

The look we were working towards was a “spring frolic in the garden – garden party” theme.  In an ideal situation it would have been sunny and warm! Unfortunately, behind the scenes, the weather turned on us and served up one of the coldest, wettest, windiest days in a while! Unbelievably, all the shots were slated to be taken outdoors, and with Rosemary from Modern Wedding at the helm, we made the decision to soldier on and make it work.

We were determined to make winter look like spring!!

Our two models, Courtney and Marnee from Viviens, were outsanding. They braved the cold and rain in exposed Summery outfits. There were 14 outfit changes throughout the day, each with a new set of spring bouquets that were meticulously put together by Kavelle.

Perfect wedding makeup that doesn’t date

I kept the makeup “natural” looking, but with intensitya look that a lot of brides ask for. It’s a look I like to recommend, as it doesn’t seem to date. Given the Spring garden theme for this Modern wedding shoot, I set out to achieve a dewy, hydrated look to their skin – skin that looks soft, fresh, healthy, and flawless. Dewy lips also, with a slight flush to the cheeks.
I used water proof mascara, as the models were, at times standing in rain! Water proof mascara is essential for a wedding day. Brides need to feel confident that their mascara will stay, even through an emotional ceremony.

Emma Attenborough – worked wonders in the wind and rain with the girls Hair.

The location was just perfect for a wedding shoot, and for a real Modern Wedding for that matter! We wondered around the gardens of Curzon Hall to get these images.
